Umno should be benevolent when pushing for the Malay rights especially in areas that they are lagging behind, said Umno Youth information chief Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican. He said that, although the principle of Umno's struggle was based on justice for all races but the endeavour to defend the Malays rights must take precedence. In supporting a motion of thanks towards Umno, he stressed that equality and fairness do not mean justice but justice will ensure equality and fairness.
Reezal Merican said the actions by certain quarters in raising the question equality and fairness were either due to confusion or in the pursuit of their own agendas. He called on Umno Youth members to show their resolve in fighting traitors who had been spreading lies and deceiving the people.
